Moncarapacho to Tavira

The ideal way to see the hidden beauty of the Algarve is by bike and this is one of our most popular tours. It takes place in the quiet and unspoilt Eastern Algarve. Starting in the quaint town of Moncarapacho, with cobbled streets and traditional houses, we head East along quiet, largely traffic free roads and dirt tracks. We pass through orange groves, sleepy Algarvean villages and scenic countryside before arriving in Tavira.

Tavira is one of the prettiest towns on the Algarve coast, with a river running through the centre, a castle, an old Roman bridge and a wealth of traditional architectural styles. After a well earned café break, usually in the centre of Tavira, this tour takes you West along the coast passing through the beautiful village of Santa Luzía, famous for its Octopus fishing. Following some well established dirt tracks through the best of the Ria Formosa nature reserve, we gradually return to Moncarapacho.

This tour is appropriate for reasonably fit and competent riders, capable of riding c. 40 km, with a few gentle hills - nothing too strenuous.

The tour will last around 3 to 4 hours.

We run regular tours every Thursday from 09.30am.
