Birdwatching in the Castro Marim Nature Reserve

Birdwatching in the Castro Marim Nature Reserve

Casrto Marim nature reserve is one of the 10 most important wetlands for birds in Portugal, which is reflected in the presence of more than 200 species throughout the year. The observation of birds such as the Little Bustard, the Slender-Billed Gull and the Dartford Warbler are some of the highlights of this idyllic natural reserve. This wetland is the only place in Portugal where the Lesser Short-Toed lark nests and can be observed, which is a testament to how distinctive this little haven really is.

It is very important to us that our activity doesn't disturb any of the wildlife or their habitats which is why we have a strong commitment to perform these observations with the least possible ecological impact or disturbance to the resident and migrating birds.

Birdwatching in the Castro Marim nature reserve is a must for all enthusiasts looking to observe some of Mother Nature's best specimens in their natural habitat.

All year round tours are organised in groups of 1 to 8 people.
